Aragorn Case Studies

Café Med at Kew

This restaurant was completely refurbished and rebranded during a 4 week contract period.

The conservatory was replaced, existing mosaic tiled floors replaced with new slate floors, a new bar and new banquette seating manufactured and installed, and the restaurant was completely re-decorated in specialist finishes

New waiter stations were manufactured and the tills installed with cabling links to the back office

The work also included new lighting and upgrading the existing mechanical services to the kitchens prior to new equipment being installed

Portobello Road

The project involved removing the roof of this Mews house, rebuilding the top floor to incorporate a new bathroom and bedroom, and then forming a new lead roof.

New windows were installed, and all the services were overhauled. New purpose made joinery wardrobes and bookcases were fitted to maximise the use of the space. As the location is a conservation area, it was important that all the works were carried out sympathetically and in close liaison with the local authority.

The Spinney, Barnes

This residential apartment had not been modernised since its construction

Interior walls were repositioned, a new up to the minute limestone bathroom and granite kitchen installed and new hardwood flooring and carpeting laid

New cherry wood wardrobes and were constructed, new hardwood doors fitted and a new dropped ceiling with recessed halogen downlighters installed

Installation of double doors to the reception area enhanced the feeling of spaciousness and lighting to the central hallway

The Red House, Clerkenwell

This apartment in a listed building included a conical loft space which was unused. The project involved creating a new bathroom and study within the loft, removing the existing staircase to a mezzanine floor and building a new hardwood staircase to service both the mezzanine and loft spaces. The other rooms within the apartment were then remodelled and refurbished.

The project was complicated by the need to retain all the existing supporting timbers within the loft, as well as the other existing listed features of the building.

De Vere Gardens

Work in progress

A residential apartment overlooking Hyde Park is being completely remodelled and refurbished

Originally designed as two separate dwellings, the interior has been reshaped and the kitchen and bathrooms relocated, resulting in a luxurious 3 bedroom contemporary apartment in a traditional period building

New central heating, hot and cold services, electrical power and lighting have all been installed.

The new bathrooms are finished in limestone with veneered oak vanitory units, and the new state of the art kitchen is complemented by a new oak floor
